The Refuge has a very clear purpose and motive.

To clearly and publicly call my long time friend (16 years) to repentance, as I have exhausted all other options for the last 3 years.

To provide ministry to those who have left a Sovereign Grace Ministries Church, and are experiencing isolation, confusion, pain, and doubt.

To clearly and publicly call for reform within Sovereign Grace Ministries, asking SGM to reconsider their current polity, which often results in overly authoritarian leadership within the local church.

This is simply a blog. The public square. You have every right to attack, question our motives, and disbelieve everything I say. Please feel free to call me a liar, or anything else that pops into your head, but be nice to my wife. I really mean that.

I have already answered many questions that you may have, and have summarized the steps that I have taken to pursue reconciliation with my friend. Every attempt has failed. Please see post 3 (linked below) if you can’t understand why I won’t just walk away, leaving my friend in his sin. I would consider that to be the most unloving thing I could to a man I love, and to a church I love.

If you do have questions, or would like to tell me how so very wrong I am, I would ask you to first read 6 Foundational Posts. After you’ve read them, I’ll be happy to clarify anything I haven’t communicated well.

What I can’t do, is answer the same questions over and over again. I think you’ll find your answers in what I’ve already said.

This is one of the few blogs where you’ll find that you have the ability to edit your post after you’ve posted. There is a 10 minute time limit on that feature, which should be long enough to spell check or reword your post.
