(A little light-hearted, random silliness, here.)

The song "Twist and Shout" always comes to mind when I hear of CJ and the others doing their "twisting"...because, baby...they DO know how to "twist so fine."

"Well, shake it up, baby, now, (shake it up, baby)
Twist and shout. (twist and shout)"

"You know you twist so fine. (twist so fine)"

:)

Okay, I'm leaving now. (Kindred with the song in her head now, singing and dancing as she exits)...

"Well, shake it, shake it, shake it, baby, now. (shake it up baby)
Well, shake it, shake it, shake it, baby, now. (shake it up baby)
Well, shake it, shake it, shake it, baby, now. (shake it up baby)
Ahhhhhhhhhh(low) Ahhhhhhhhhh(higher) Ahhhhhhhhhh(higher) Ah!(high)"

In case you have not heard, CJ will be speaking at KingsWay this Sunday. We have heard that he is speaking from the book of Jude. Read Jude and you will find some scripture that a person like CJ could twist to make those of us who left be characterized as "enemies of the faith." Most likely the message he will deliver is the same one he gave at Covenant Fellowship (Dave Harvey's church) a few weeks ago. The link is here: <a>Listen Now</a>

Agreed, Stunned.

There is a huge difference between my technical writing (have just had a paper peer-reviewed and in the process of being revised,) and my writing style when I'm writing on a discussion board and that is significantly different from my fiction.

The written word is a wonderful tool we have to not only communicate to our intended audience, it is also an artifact and testament to who we are that will reach out over time to audiences beyond our imagination.

The average American communicates on the level of a 12 year old. I think the last thing we want to do is make people feel embarrassed or intimidated to share their thoughts and feelings here because we don't approve of their spelling or grammar.

I hated my time in the Ivy League due in part to the fact that in my opinion my writing became crappier. In other words, I partially lost my ability to communicate to my fellow Americans on a level where they may be most comfortable and gained my ability to communicate to the tiny little percent of Americans who are top professors and have their head up their own arrogant.... hats. For the most part these are NOT the people I am called to reach. (Thank the Lord, I would end up killing myself due to the boredom factor alone- though it was a professor who offered me Ecstasy- talk about a shocker.)

So as far as I am concerned, anyone is welcome to post here, regardless of their comfort with spelling or grammar or any other fault we here see with their composition. It has been proven time and again that people can still read what someone is writing as long as most of the letters are in a word. I think it sucks that we make fun of someone for the way they communicate. (No matter how offensive what they say is.) What they have to say is what is important, not their ability to do so in a way that is academically acceptable.

DB

I thought that was the case of your tongue in cheek. Your writing sure sounds more like a graduate student.

I have seen some technical types that struggle with writing though are proficient in their technical area. I have also seen others write where their lack of writing skills really show. It was funny to see "Someone" post what they did and be written so poorly. It discredits all of what they are trying to say if one can even figure out what they were saying (I wasn't).

Hopefully their writing wasn't an example of what happens with some home schoolers. ;-) I am sure this writing problem can happen with both with home schooled and regular schooled children.

Hope things are well.

Steve,

I am actually a grad student and was sending peer reviewed papers through the system and the best I can manage is a 16. I suspect 16 is its upper limit.

My tongue is firmly planted in my cheek just in case you are curious.

I am not sure if you are joking but a "16" from what I understand would mean it thinks you are 4th year of college in your writing.

I haven't tested my writing but will one of these times. I would be surprised if I did that well.

There's something wrong with that writing checker because I can only get it to Grade 16 and I'm usually 15 which is below grade level.

Dear Someone,

Home-schooled, eh?

Learn to engage others in conversation, not vitriol.

Good grammar and spelling also helps.

Are you saying that everyone on this site is lying? How could you possibly know this?

Someone,

SGM leadership, have, for several years, referred to themselves as "The First Among Equals".--- 'Primus inter pares' ("first among equals") is a term created by and for the Roman Empire. This was the Emperors way of reducing the APPEARANCE of DICTATORSHIP. How ironic that SGM leadership have so aptly titled themselves with a phrase which involves deception and camouflage!

The SGM pastors and leadership herald their 'position' of "watching over the souls" of Gods people ---whilst manipulating, controling, and in some cases, wielding spiritual abuse, upon Gods people.
The Refuge unveils the smokescreens and dictatorship of SGM Polity.

For EVERY Blood-bought Believer in Jesus Christ:
"His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and Godliness, through the true knowledge of Him Who called us by His own glory and excellence." (IPeter 1:3)

His divine power far usurps the SGM primus inter pares!

<cite>Someone - what a grace-filled post. Why don't you use your writing skills over at SGM letters. They have been up for almost a year and have only gotten 4 posts honoring SGM - surprising, hunh?

wow….nice how you can dismiss abuse in a such a minimizing tone. Sexual abuse, Apostolic deception and neglect, double standards, etc….oh well. See you on the other side of the truth…

<p>"Someone",</p>
<p>Thank you for your thoughtful post. BTW, Timothy was around 40 years old when Paul wrote 1 Tim. I assume that "someone" as scholarly as yourself is aware of this.</p>
<p>I have no desire to write a novel, but I think that you should consider it. It's rare to find someone with your communication skills.</p>
