Oh, I see what ItsHome was saying. That Live Wire was wrong to say Keith was fired? I am listening to the message right now. After watching church after church do the same thing, it does seem pretty clear that that’s what really happened, but we don’t know for sure. Gene says they are “listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit and responding.”

You know, in the days of the early church, people would have been struck dead for lying. Ananias and Sapphira? I sure wish we could see transparency in the 21st century church. I don’t know about this particular case, but why not just say “I have not handled several situations well at all and I need more training so I’m going to step down.” Or whatever the case may be. I would so appreciate a pastor saying that rather than suggesting that the Lord has been calling him somewhere else and it seems right to us and to the Holy Spirit to do thus and so. Do they think we’re children and unable to understand that people make mistakes and life is messy? The candycoating is unnecessary.

Oh well… Just my random thoughts. If God has called Keith to go, great. “Mission supercedes comfort and community” as Gene said. If he’s leaving because he’s been ousted and offered an out through internship with Gene, why not just say so?

…Just heard Gene say God called Steve Shank and another pastor (DB) and his team of 100 to Denver to see “a new region open for the Gospel.” Were there no churches in Denver already? Sheesh!

“If you have questions or concerns, please bring them through letter, through email, through phone, through face to face. Each regular attender here is welcome to seek out one of the pastors…” says GE. I encourage you all to do that. And to pray for this transition August 23 when Eric comes in as Senior Pastor… God bless you all and may you follow God wherever He leads.

And don’t forget to fight for your freedom in Christ!!!

Its Home, if you’re still here, Live Wire doesn’t lie. I don’t know about KB, EH, and GE. GE said terrible things about my friends behind their backs, so I would definitely not trust what he says. It’s been my experience over the years that sometimes pastors feel they have to spin a story their direction in order to save face and potentially save their own jobs. But someone in Live Wire’s position has no such need. When faced with two different stories, I would choose to trust the one who has no vested interest in altering the truth. That would be Live Wire.

Wow! I think I would have left completely than have to sit under G.E. In my (humble) opinion……Brett Campbell seemed to have gotten out of the fire pretty easily. He’s the one that should have gone too! Maybe they should go together……………..
No wonder Keith did not want an exit interview, we were willing……..so what, who cares, they are out of here and so am I.

By the way, We joined our new Church today! It’s oficial…yeah!!!!! It was wonderful to have so many people come up after the service and welcome you. The Church is growing and the Lord is moving in there, so much so, next week we start 2 services! Wow, God is so good, always!

Breaking Chesapeake news: Eric Hughes will be assuming the role of Sr. Pastor at Chesapeake upon completion of the Pastor’s college, and Keith Breault will be planting a church “in the region,” after he joins Kingsway (Gene Emerson’s church) for a season of “internship.”

Although The Quizzler has spent many years in an SGM church, the desire to attend a meeting down in Chesapeake, while listening to the apostle Gene berate the flock for passing on bad reports, ranks right up there with cleaning the chalk dust from erasers after school.

The thought of going in a costume though is intriguing!

SGM POLITICAL CORRECTNESS or SCAM??: “After a careful evaluation, we have determined that he doesn’t have the calling of a Pastor”=YOUR FIRED! (even if he has been in the ministry for say…10 years). I wonder if this is SGM’s tactic for preventing the guys who lose their jobs from getting unemployment benefits? They aren’t technically fired, but instead, resign their position based on a “convinced” lack of calling. This would preclude them from collecting unemployment, and keep SGM’s unemployment insurance low.

This Saturday folks, Apostle Emerson will be the “Guest Host”, I mean “Speaker” at Sovereign Grace Chesapeake. The question is, who will the hammer fall on? I’m not sure, so I don’t wish to speculate. What I do know, however, is that he will surely receive an honorarium for speaking. That’s right, the Apostle Guest Host will be paid for his services. The only question is, if the hammer is dropped on any one one of the pastors, will he be paid from the Benevolence Fund? Tune in tomorrow pm for the answer.

Thank you for the Sam Storms post! I am going to continue to read it more in depth, but I did like this part so far:

I’m sorry that you had such ridiculous experiences with your church, particularly with your CGL – telling you that you weren’t a Christian??? Having to invite the leader over if you had some of the group over?? Sheesh!

Thank you for standing in for me………….so many quizzes to grade, you know.

Sounds like some revelation will be brought to the kind folks down in Chesapeake this Lord’s Day.

Here are some questions that those of you in attendance may want to consider…………

A) have the changes announced at the Jan meeting been instituted (I’m told that the pastors would no longer be counseling women and that phone calls, emails, etc would be quickly answered, etc) or are you still waiting for those changes?
B) what meaningful changes have been made by the pastors (or have the changes been made by others, including the Holy Spirit)?
C) has benevolence broken out among the church leadership?
D) are you being subtly pressed for increased giving?
E) is the Mission Fund still going to pay off the church mortgage early or is it going to real mission work?
F) are care groups being disbanded?

so many questions, so little time……………………..
